Benjamin Malay is a self-taught artist who enjoys working with a variety of media and found materials. His charcoal portraits are in private collections in Europe, Australia, and the US. Current projects include a photo-memoir documenting his family's journey from Berlin, Germany to Colville, Washington. He is the sole proprietor of a Seattle area fine art framing business.

“Process intrigues me, and I like the element of unpredictability when working with new materials. I love texture. I am continually inspired by music and film, by the fleeting moments of a simple gesture and the play of light and shadows across a face. Spontaneous use of available materials has inspired some of my best work.”
